Indigenous Revelations
"People go through every moment of their lives... without thinking about Native peoples or american colonialism for one second. And, frustratingly, our society and education system has deemed that perfectly fine.” This blog is dedicated to north 'american' Indigenous culture, struggle and identity. It serves as a tool to not only celebrate these cultures and people, but also to combat the continuous cycle of ignorance, racism and cultural genocide against Native peoples. One of my films will be screened at the Library of Congress today; Celebrating Native language revitalization in film
The low-budget advocacy project, KIMACHIPENA: COMING TOGETHER, is one man’s heartfelt message to his tribe on preserving the Sauk language, the Native tongue of the Sac and Fox Indian Nation. (2007-Sauk with English Subtitles)
The screening at the Library of Congress is made possible by the non-profit indigenous rights organization, Cultural Survival.
