"People go through every moment of their lives... without thinking about Native peoples or american colonialism for one second. And, frustratingly, our society and education system has deemed that perfectly fine.” This blog is dedicated to north 'american' Indigenous culture, struggle and identity. It serves as a tool to not only celebrate these cultures and people, but also to combat the continuous cycle of ignorance, racism and cultural genocide against Native peoples.

Activist with Youth of the Peaks project, an organization of Native American and Non-Native American youth seeking to protect sacred lands in the San Francisco Peaks area near Flagstaff. Held sacred by more than 13 tribes, the peaks are threatened by a proposed expansion of a ski resort and the use of reclaimed waste water to make snow.

This clip is from 2006, and we’re still fighting to protect the peaks for the same reasons as before. Right now, people are camping to occupy the space. For more information and updates, you can also check out www.truesnow.org.
